Around sixty seniors from Château Silhol in feria mode

La Peña Del Fuego a mis le feu avec les danseuses de Sévillanes.

This weekend, the feria was invited to our elders at the Lumière et Paix retirement home at Château-Silhol. A good sixty residents, out of the ninety in the Ehpad (Accommodation establishment for dependent elderly people), accompanied by caregivers and facilitators, were dressed to the nines. Some wore feria outfits, under the tender eyes of Dominique Bernard, the president of the Protestant Society of Friends of the Poor (SPAP) association which manages the establishment, and the general director, Patrick Lacombe.

Dances and peña

Coming from Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie, La Peña Del Fuego, directed by Wladimir Mercier, set the stage on fire with its five musicians. "We were at the Alès feria last week. We did the pegoulade to open the one in Nîmes and the jousts in the Jardins de la Fontaine", he specifies. The party would not have been beautiful without the dancers from the Olympe Retraite Sportive club, led by their host Raymonde, who enchanted all the residents, and led some of them, for their greatest pleasure, into wild Sevillanes to the sound castanet players.

For the president and general director of the association, it is a great success and, as the latter points out with a smile: "It's the Ehpad where there are the most centenarians. There must be a microclimate here that favors longevity."
