Asian Cup of Nations: three penalties awarded to Qatar shatter the dream of Jordan and Mousa Tamari

The end of a dream. MHSC winger Mousa Tamari and Jordan fell to Qatar on Saturday in an Asian Nations Cup final that will leave them a very bitter taste.

For good reason, in a Lusail Stadium in Doha logically supported the cause of the local selection, Tamari and his partners lost on three penalties awarded to the Qataris. Scorer Akram Afif converted each time a sentence confirmed by the VAR (22nd, 73rd and 90th +5). But several Jordanian players did not hide their reactions, applauding the match referee and laughing very jokingly.

Qatar retains title

Previously, Jordan, the outsider of this meeting, had created several situations, including a duel between Tamari and the opposing goalkeeper, won by the latter (45th+4).&nbsp ;Yasan (67th) finally managed to equalize at 1-1.

A short-lived joy since two new whistles, and as many penalties, sounded. They put an end to the dreams of Tamari and Jordan, after a historic journey (quarter-finals in 2004 and 2011). Qatar, for its part, succeeded in retaining its title acquired in 2019 and won the second Asian Cup in its history.
