At least 30% of students in colleges and universities this fall

While many colleges and universities have already announced that the fall session will be primarily online, Quebec, their request to enhance these scenarios by providing that at least 30% of the students will be able to be back on campus this fall.

The minister of Education, Jean-François Roberge, presented Tuesday to the actors of the networks, college and university scenarios for the start of fall, as it did last week for the school network.

Three options were presented : the first scenario foresees a blended learning, with a presence on the campus in 50% of the students, the second scenario also provides a teaching of a hybrid, but with a attendance in the presence of approximately 30% to 35% of the students, while the third scenario rather puts forward the presence to 100% in the classrooms for all students.

Regardless of the option chosen, the sanitary measures must also be put in place, according to the guidelines of the public health.

In the document presented yesterday, so The Journal has obtained a copy, states that the aim is to promote the presence of students on campus, while paying special attention to the most vulnerable students.

Québec also recognizes that an increased presence of students is a logistical challenge, since many institutions have already announced that the fall session will take place in the great majority online.
