At the biography festival in Nîmes, the secrets of Elisabeth Borne by Bérengère Bonte

As part of the biography festival in Nîmes, a meeting organized by Midi Libre with Bérengère Bonte, for her book dedicated to Elisabeth Borne.

"She has a striking background and we don't know her." C’ is what inspired the journalist Bérengère Bonte, who hosts Les Informés on France Info, to take an interest in Elisabeth Borne, who was still Prime Minister a few weeks ago. During a meeting Midi Libre at space 14, hosted by Edith Lefranc, she presented this life which begins with "a painful family story that goes through war", a story that will build a strong character. Deported, returned from the camps, her father committed suicide when she was 11 years old.

Beyond the character, Bérengère Bonte spoke at length about the profession of biography and the way in which she worked. "We must first disregard everything that has been written", then in concentric circles, it is approached her character, meeting her friends, her collaborators, until two strange interviews with Élisabeth Borne, one full of good humor, the other more withdrawn. Two weeks after the publication of the book, Bérengère Bonte was attacked for invasion of privacy…

For the biographer, the former Prime Minister, despite "a journey which took place on the left", does not have strong convictions. She loves action above all, "wants to repair her country." The journalist also notices a very hard worker like she knows "very little in the political world."
