“At the boarding!”, the new festival of comics and marine illustrations during Stopover in Sète

"At the boarding!", this is the name of the new festival of comics and marine illustrations created especially for the next edition of ' Stopover in Sète, the flagship event of maritime traditions organized from March 26 to April 1, 2024.

The 2024 edition of Escale à Sète, organized from March 26 to April 1, will see the creation of a brand new festival dedicated to comics and marine illustrations, entitled "At the boarding!". The meeting will take place in a village dedicated to comics, in the heart of the Thau archipelago, rue de la Savonnerie.

17 guest cartoonists and screenwriters

Comic book fans will be able to meet one of their favorite illustrators, designers or writers, among the 17 guests, present for signing sessions and moments of sharing. Within this 2024 casting, we will find in particular Serge Fino ("The hunters of'cum"), also author of the official poster,  Jean-Benoît Héron ("On board the liners"), Pascal Bresson ("Between Land and Sea"), Christian Gine ("Stamford Bridge&quot ;), or even Alexandre Noyer ("Icelandic Fisherman")… The complete list can be found here.

Live artistic performances, exhibitions, workshops…

Visitors will also have the opportunity to attend live artistic performances, exhibitions, drawing workshops, round tables, and discover Demai's talents. Also to be found, throughout the duration of the Stopover in Sète, at the Chapelle des Pénitents, the exhibition "D'Inks et d'embruns& quot;, with drawings, illustrations and watercolors by Yves Renda, in the presence of visual arts students from Paul-Valéry Montpellier III University and high school students from Paul-Valéry.

For this 1st edition, the festival "At the boarding!" is setting up an Ulule campaign, in the hope of supplementing its funding. In return, contributors will be able to leave with autographed comics, postcards, official festival posters, exclusives and limited editions…
