Le parquet de Brest a annoncé dans un communiqué vendredi 27 septembre 2024 qu'un masseur de 34 ans avait été mis en examen et écroué pour "tentative de viol et agressions sexuelles".
A masseur was indicted and imprisoned for "attempted rape, sexual assault and invasion of privacy by capturing images of a sexual nature", the Brest prosecutor's office announced in a press release on Friday, September 27. The 34-year-old man, a masseur at a thalassotherapy center in Roscoff, in Finistère, was arrested and taken into custody on Tuesday, September 24, after a client reported the incident, according to information from Télégramme.
An attempted rape
The 22-year-old woman explained to the police that the man 'had started massaging her private parts inappropriately" after offering her a "traditional Indian massage“. She then said that the masseur had removed his pants before trying to penetrate her. The client in a “startling movement” told him to stop before leaving the premises and to go and report the facts, explained Camille Miansoni, public prosecutor of Brest.
Women filmed without their knowledge
The video of this attempted rape was found on the masseur's phone while he was in police custody. He filmed clients without their knowledge when they were naked. Two videos of sexual assaults in the same center were also discovered by investigators. The two women involved also filed a complaint.
The man was on a trial period
At the time of the events, the man had just been hired at the thalassotherapy center and was still on a trial period. However, he had previously been employed as a masseur in other establishments. Eric Carré, CEO of the Valdys group, told France Bleu that he was “in shock. Our first thoughts go to the customers affected by this matter, and to the teams, whom we are trying to support as best we can“.
