Austrian Thirst Quencher
|DAY
Nothing better to cool off than this small grüner veltliner from the Kamptal region of Austria.
Small 13-hectare vineyard located near the village of Mollands. Everything is grown organically and biodynamically. No input. In short, we are in the natural. But natural wine well made. Corked with a screw cap to avoid cork problems, the wine gains definition as it oxygenates. Inviting scents of pear, apricot, yellow apple, verbena, lavender and an empyreumatic background (smoke, if you want to make it simpler). We expect something rich, even semi-dry on the palate, but it is completely dry with ample substance and vibrant acidity. It's light and flowing with a slightly saline finish with the fruitiness that comes back in retro. Rock juice that can be sipped chilled, alone as an aperitif or, even better, to accompany fried squid.
