But the birth did not go as planned. Quite the contrary. As the baby's head presented, his shoulders remained stuck for several hours, due to shoulder dystocia.

The baby's head was torn off, freeing itself from the still stuck body. To free the rest of the stillborn baby's little body, an emergency cesarean section was performed.
The little boy named Treveon Isaiah Taylor Jr was pronounced dead.

The head had been positioned so that the decapitation could not be seen, as reported by CNN.
At that time, the parents were not aware that the head had been torn off and that their child's death was due to this decapitation.

The medical team recommends rapid cremation. The parents also claimed that staff tried to dissuade them from performing an autopsy. And it was only when the mother left the hospital that they discovered the decapitation. the funeral home which informed the parents.
The conclusions of the forensic doctor
Faced with this news, the parents decided to take legal action against the hospital and the medical team. On Tuesday, February 6, the Clayton County Medical Examiner's Office ruled it a homicide.
In a press release, he specified that the infant had died of a "fracture dislocation with complete transection, of the upper cervical spine and the spinal cord", due to "shoulder dystocia, arrest labor and fetal entrapment in the birth canal.
The forensic doctor added that gestational diabetes declared during pregnancy and premature rupture of membranes should not be neglected in the tragedy either. < /p>

Brian Byars, the director of the Clayton County Medical Examiner's Office, explained on CNN: "I have never witnessed any ;rsquo;something like this before. No one in our office has seen anything like this. Everyone we consulted with has never seen a situation like this before."
