Backstreet Boys' A. J. returns home after major surgery ration

“After the operation I am in a lot of pain but I hope they fixed me well,” A. J. McLean of the Backstreet Boys wrote on Instagram when he had just returned from to be operated on for a herniated disc. 

A. J. McLean of the Backstreet Boys took to Instagram to thank his fans for their prayers and kind words on Monday.

Under his most recent post shared to his 1.3 million followers, he added, “Lots of bed rest and movies in my future. Good night everybody. Thank you for the prayers, I appreciate them all.”

The three photos he published on Monday show him alternately bedridden at home, then standing, revealing the bandages on his chest following his operation.

The previous photo showed the 45-year-old artist on his hospital bed wearing his gown and blue cap just before his operation.

“Okay, well, it's surgery time,” he wrote. Bye bye hernia! Wish me good luck”, message having collected nearly 6000 messages of encouragement.  

A. J. McLean recently announced that he is separating from his wife of the past 11 years, Rochelle DeAnna McLean, who is also the mother of his two children, Ava and Lyric.
