“Bad fuck or barjo porn”: sex and absurdity

& ldquo; Bad fuck or barjo porn & rdquo ;: sex and nonsense & eacute;

MISE & Agrave; DAY

What better way than porn to demonstrate the absurdity of contemporary society?

Recipient of the Golden Bear at the Berlinale, “Bad fuck or barjo porn” opens with a couple filming themselves in the middle of a sexual act (yes, it is graphic and that's the goal, the film is moreover forbidden to under 18s), including an interruption by the mother-in-law of one of the protagonists.

But now, this homemade porn is uploaded by Eugen, the husband of Emi Cilibiu (Katia Pascariu) who has the misfortune of being a teacher in a school. While she worries about the fallout from the video that has gone viral on her job, she walks the streets of Budapest, the filmmaker Radu Jude taking the opportunity to engage in a review, which is not complacent, of the company in full pandemic.

A kind of interlude presenting definitions of words cuts the feature film in two, the continuation of Emi's story concluding with a meeting between the teacher and the parents of the students outraged before Radu Jude proposed three possible endings to this trivial story.

Biting satire, “Bad fuck or crazy porn” spares no one for 106 minutes. Radu Jude films passers-by in Bucharest in all their daily violence (pedestrians against motorists, a supermarket customer yelling at someone who slows down the cashier, etc.), often drawing a parallel with the gigantic advertisements that line the walls of the store. capital of Romania. The interlude is just as – if not more – biting, the filmmaker taking the opportunity to explode the absurdity, cruelty and hypocrisy of modern society, not without recalling in brief vignettes, the brutality of the regime Ceausescu.

The third part of the feature film, entirely devoted to what must be qualified as the trial of Emi – one cannot help but think of the Stalinist trials -, completes what has been said before. We laugh, admittedly yellow, and we take advantage of a moment of reflection after the viewing to wonder how we can allow such political and social derailments to happen. Must see. & Nbsp;
