Bagnols: Beu vieure a Bagnou creates a discovery trail in the Montigal and Chaudeyrac district

Work has been carried out to clear the start of the trail located on Chemin de Claudeyrac. DR

The 2.5 kilometer path passes along the edges of vineyards, olive trees, pomegranate trees and on the Montigal and Chaudeyrac paths.

The Ben Vieure association in Bagnou, which has around thirty members, has created a discovery trail in Bagnols-sur-Cèze. The start of this trail is on Chemin de Chaudeyrac. "We reopened a section of around a hundred meters. It was an old rural road managed by the town hall. It allows you to join that of Montigal through the woods, explains president Olivier Jean-Vigier. We have had authorization from the town hall to reopen this path which had been blocked for years."

This area is well known for the association. "We had a debate in 2022 because' there was a huge construction project which was ultimately abandoned by the town hall. So we wanted to take advantage of it to do something", he continues.

A path inhabited by the ocellated lizard

The vegetation had taken over the start of the trail. It was therefore necessary to carry out a major cleaning. "We started the work at the beginning of the month. We have made good progress thanks to the help of SARL DFTP which offered us 4 hours of work with a mechanical excavator and a truck. This allowed us to save time because by hand it would have been much longer." The path passes along the edges of vineyards, d&# 39;olive trees, pomegranate trees but also on a paved part of the Montigal and Chaudeyrac path. "It is almost ready, there is still some signage to do and some small improvements with including stone walls to reassemble."

The association will install a sign at the start of the trail to allow hikers to become aware of the loop of approximately 2.5 kilometers and #39;have some information on the ocellated lizard, present on the surrounding lands. Walkers and runners can already take the path and go looking for the lizard.
