MONTREAL – The shopping malls in the Greater Montreal could resume their activities on Friday and some stores have taken the opportunity to offer balances impressive to the customer, sometimes even going as far as offering 80 % discount on the regular price.
The Galeries d’anjou, in the east of Montreal, several shop windows were plastered with posters of balances, the more tempting the one than the other. Retail clothing stores like H&M, Sirens, or Amnesia offered discount “reopening” in order to attract consumers.
A sign indicating that discounts of up to 80 % were offered at H&M, for example, has prompted several customers hidden to make the queue before the shop even before the opening.
Blouses 3 $
The wait was worth it: in the store, there were blouses summer at $ 2.99 instead of $ 14.99, pieces of swimwear 5.99 $ instead of $ 24.99 a and summer dresses at $ 19.99 instead of 59.99 $.
In Sirens, a complete section was reduced to a price of $ 10 or less and most items from the regular collection to be sold at half the price.
However, it was often impossible to try the pieces on sale, since the fitting rooms were closed in most clothing stores. Most retailers provided that said exchange or refund items purchased on presentation of an invoice.
Hygiene measures have been added to the Galleries d’anjou, as is the case everywhere since the beginning of the pandemic.
An employee of the security posted at the reception asked Friday for customers to clean hands with a hydroalcoholic solution, to follow the direction of the arrows on the floor, not to exceed the people, adhere to the social distancing of two metres and to go home if they showed symptoms of the COVID-19.
In the store, the employees were necessarily hidden, the plexiglas panels were installed to the pos stations of disinfection were installed at the entrances and exits of the shops.
But despite all these precautions, one thing was clear during our visit: the hunt for a discount is definitely a complete restart.
