Dans un communiqué, le préfet annonce que le niveau de risque feux de forêt est très sévère pour la zone forestière du Gard Rhodanien, et interdit donc l’accès aux massifs à partir du dimanche 18 août.
The Gard prefect announced in a press release the ban on entering the Gard Rhodanien massifs from Sunday, August 18, 2024. This includes access, circulation, parking of any vehicle, the presence of people and any other form of circulation including pedestrians in the Gard Rhodanien area.
The Gard Rhodanien area has been placed at very severe risk (red) of forest fire by Météo France because of the mistral. Powerful gusts are expected. Three other areas of the department (Val de Cèze, Garrigues and Costières Petite Camargue) are placed at severe risk (orange).
He recalls that the prefectural decree banning the use of fire from August 2012 also prohibits any use of flame or dangerous behavior (barbecue, cigarette, use of tools likely to generate sparks, etc.) from June 15 to September 15 of each year. And that traffic on DFCI tracks is prohibited at all times to unauthorized vehicles.
Jérôme Bonet calls on everyone to take responsibility in preventing forest fires.
