Chernobyl showed an unusual butterfly bear
The workers of the Chernobyl radiation-ecological reserve of biosphere on the official page on Facebook showed a photo of a huge poisonous butterfly bear, whose head is covered with thick fur, almost like a bear.
“Bear with wings. There is a family of moths – the “dipper”. The one that hit the lens of our photographer, has a beautiful name – bear Kaya. She really has a furry brown head, as if covered with thick hair of the bear”, – told the staff of the reserve.

As noted in the post, the beauty of these insects is misleading. Their blood contains a poison and has a bitter taste that can cause irritation in the digestive system or allergies, if any animal or bird will eat it, not paying attention to her colorful wings.

However, as noted by the employees of the reserve, bear Kaya is quite safe for humans. However, it is better not to touch, but only to admire the vivid coloration of the wings, the pattern of which each individual individual.
“This insect is quite large – its wingspan ranges from 60 to 70 mm. Butterfly drinks nectar from flowers, and the caterpillar feeds on low-growing herbaceous plants, leaves of Apple, pear, plum, raspberry, BlackBerry, blueberry, honeysuckle, and even Heather. And most importantly – the caterpillar of this moth threat, including to humans. Its hairs can cause skin irritation, and hit them in the eye leads to conjunctivitis,” – warned in the reserve.
Earlier, the workers of the Chernobyl radiation-ecological biosphere reserve showed the huge mushroom of the boletus.
As reported “Today”, July 10 a new sarcophagus for Chernobyl was put into operation and transferred to the government of Ukraine. The international community has raised 1.5 billion euros for the project. The confinement will last at least 100 years. The event was attended by the President of Ukraine.
