A 14-year-old lost his life early Monday morning, when he was the victim of a work accident.
The sad event occurred around 8: 30, in a workshop in the design and manufacture of industrial equipment from the 7th Street West, Saint-Martin, in the Beauce region.
“The driver of a forklift was trapped under it, after its reversal,” explains Louis-Philippe Bibeau, a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
The victim suffered severe injuries and unfortunately succumbed to it.
The accident happened in the outer court of the company where worked the young man.
Investigators are on site.
The standards Commission, equity, health and safety in the workplace (CNESST) has been notified of the event and is also conducting an investigation.
According to the CNESST, the minimum age required to operate a forklift truck is 16 years old.
