Blue Flag 2024 in Occitanie: discover the list of beaches and ports “respectful of the environment and people”

The Blue Flag label is awarded each year to a number of beaches and ports by the Teragir association. This Thursday, May 23, 2024, the new winners were revealed. Among 504 sites in France, Occitanie comes out on top with 107 labeled beaches and 20 ports, i.e. 127 sites.

"As the summer period approaches, the Blue Flag label rewards in 2024 398 beaches, 106 marinas and 1 boat which implement a development policy that respects the environment and humans", underlines the Teragir association, in a press release, this Thursday, May 23, 2024.

Limited environmental impact

The Blue Flag label promotes municipalities and marinas that pursue a sustainable tourism development policy. It thus guarantees boaters and tourists to enjoy the joys of the beach or navigation while limiting the impact of these activities on the environment, underlines the government website of the State Secretariat responsible for the sea ​​and biodiversity.

127 labeled sites in Occitanie

In this edition, two regions have more labeled places than the others: Occitanie, with 107 beaches and 20 ports, or 127 sites. Just behind, the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur region and its 199 winners, including 91 beaches and 28 ports. On the third step of the podium, Nouvelle-Aquitaine and its 57 sites and the famous boat, the Explore Océan.
