Body of a woman discovered in the Gardon d’Alès: the preferred suicide trail

Le corps d’une femme d’une quarantaine d’années a été découvert tôt ce matin ce mercredi 24 avril.

Since 9 a.m. this Wednesday, April 24, police and firefighters have been deployed at the Pont-Neuf d’Alès following the discovery of the body of  rsquo;a woman in the Gardon.

Restrained by the rocks of the river, the body of the victim, aged around forty, was brought back to dry land by a team of fire brigade divers of Gard. The alert was apparently launched by a passerby.

She would have ended her life

According to the first elements of the investigations, the hypothesis of suicide is particularly favored. Around 3 a.m. that night, video surveillance filmed the woman, alone, jumping from the bridge.

A forensic doctor must analyze the body. In case of doubt or suspicious traces, the Alès prosecutor, Abdelkrim Grini, does not rule out requesting an autopsy. Toxicological analyzes must also be carried out.

This discovery occurs less than ten days after the discovery of a previous body on the banks of the Gardon, still in Alès.
