After exercising their right of withdrawal on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 October, the school's teachers must meet this Thursday morning to decide whether or not to resume classes.
The situation remains tense at the Collège des Oliviers, two days after a bomb alert that had caused concern within the Nîmes school. This Wednesday 16 October, Régis Bégorre, deputy academic director, went to meet with the teachers to try to resolve the situation.

The situation is calming down
Following a bomb alert on Monday, October 14, teachers exercised their right of withdrawal, demanding reinforced security measures. This Wednesday, a first step towards ending the crisis took place with the arrival of the deputy academic director, Régis Bégorre, early in the afternoon. Earlier in the morning, a listening cell had been set up to support the staff, still affected by the incident that occurred on the day of the tribute paid to Samuel Paty and Dominique Bernard, both killed in 2020 and 2023 by radicalized Islamists.
During his intervention at 2 p.m. and while the staff of the establishment continued to exercise their right to withdraw, the deputy academic director met with a delegation of teachers and assured them that all the conditions for the resumption of classes were now met. He left the final decision to them, however, with staff due to meet this Thursday, October 17, before the scheduled resumption of classes to decide what to do next.
