Brayden Point should be in charge tonight for Game 4 between the Lightning and the Maple Leafs

TAMPA | The Lightning will try to avoid going to Toronto with their backs against the wall. And it looks like the Florida team will be able to rely on the services of Brayden Point to help them get there.

“Point should play tonight. A decision will be made before the game, but we hope he will be OK.”

The Lightning's top scorer in the regular season with 51 goals, Point temporarily left the third game because of this which looked like a rib injury. Checked by Morgan Rielly, he took a few steps towards his team's bench before collapsing on the ice.

To everyone's surprise, he stayed in the game. < /p>

This collision resulted in a skirmish at the end of which Auston Matthews and Steven Stamkos came to blows. A sequence which made spend a lot of saliva at the end of this meeting and the day after it. Among other outings, Sheldon Keefe accused the Lightning of being masters at manipulating referees.

Nothing guaranteed

This is also a pivotal matchup for the Maple Leafs. The representatives of the Ontario capital have not passed the first round since the spring of 2004.

That said, having the possibility of eliminating their rival will not necessarily be a guarantee of success.

In three of the last four springs, they have had the opportunity to deliver the knockout blow to their opponents. Each time, they lost in seven games. In 2019, against the Bruins, in 2021, against the Canadiens, and, last year, against the same Lightning.

They also lost in the ultimate game in 2018 against the Bruins and in 2020 , against the Blue Jackets.
