MONTREAL – Les ponts Jacques-Cartier and Samuel De Champlain will continue to be illuminated in the colors of the rainbow in July, when the impacts of the pandemic COVID-19 are still very present even if the déconfinement is well in the saddle.
The Jacques-Cartier bridge is animated in this way every evening at sunset since the beginning of the month of April.
“This illumination, special colors of the rainbow is part of the great movement “it’s going to go well”, which has become a symbol of hope and solidarity for the population in the pandemic period of the COVID-19″, recalled Friday, The Bridges Jacques Cartier and Champlain Incorporated and the company Moment Factory, who designed the project with local employees.
“An iconic Structure in the region of Montreal, the Jacques-Cartier bridge, which connects the cities of Montreal and Longueuil, also reminds us that it is together that we are going through this difficult period”, a-t-is added.
As for the bridge, Samuel De Champlain, it will continue to light up in the colours of the rainbow 21: 30 to 22: 30 every Sunday in July, has announced Infrastructure Canada, Friday.
“I am delighted that the bridge continues to project its colors arc-en-ciel […] to thank the workers and front-line workers, and pay tribute to all those we have lost, said the minister of Infrastructure and Communities, Catherine McKenna. This rainbow also reminds us to follow the instructions of public health. Continue to take care of you, your family and your community.”
