Brigitte Macron's nephew cuts down 56 trees to build his house with swimming pool: the project is being sued by neighbors

Ce mardi 1er octobre 2024, le neveu de Brigitte Macron a abattu 56 arbres pour permettre la construction d’une maison avec piscine dans l’allée des Roses.

Jean-Alexandre Trogneux, nephew of Brigitte Macron, sees his real estate project in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage (Pas-de-Calais) disrupted by a legal action from the neighborhood. To successfully complete the construction of a house with a swimming pool on a plot of 2,900 square meters, he cut down 56 trees, reports Actu Pas-de-Calais.

Neighbours outraged by this project have taken the matter to the administrative court of Lille to urgently suspend the two municipal decrees which did not oppose this felling. The legal action was dismissed

86 new trees will be planted

"The felling of the trees concerned was decided because their health condition no longer allowed their safe maintenance to be guaranteed", the city reacted after the neighborhood protest. The municipality assures at the same time that 86 new trees will be planted to compensate.

“In addition, the footprint of the real estate project has been reduced to minimize its impact on neighboring plots and promote harmonious landscape integration. These choices illustrate the city's desire to reconcile urban development and the preservation of biodiversity", the press release justifies itself.

According to La Voix du Nord, justice considered that there was "not of serious doubt as to the legality" of Jean-Alexandre Trogneux's building permit.
