Boarding the bus in the Greater Montreal will soon again by the door of the driver: passengers will need to start to pay for their transport.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, only the rear doors of the bus opened at stops, an exceptional measure which had been put in place to protect the drivers of the coronavirus.
As there is no equipment available to check the tickets at the back of the vehicles, the users of the network could in fact move a bus without a ticket or subscription card.
The regional Authority of metropolitan transport (ARTM) has, however, announced on Friday that the situation would gradually return to normal in the next few weeks, the time of the protection panels are installed in front seats of all drivers.
This decision applies to the buses of the Société de transport de Montréal (STM), the Société de transport de Laval (STL), the réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) and exo.
Those who do not have a subscription card or a valid ticket will be able to pay their travel money at the entrance, has reported to the ARTM.
