Byron in bad shape
|DAY
After Weber and Price, it's Paul Byron's turn to see his career in jeopardy. The 33-year-old Ontarian is still struggling to recover from hip surgery he underwent in the summer of 2021.
“In the short, and possibly medium term, it doesn't look like Paul will be able to return. Unless there's a huge turnaround,” Hughes said.
In reviewing Byron's situation, the GM drew a parallel with Price's case, which has nothing reassuring.
“He continues to have trouble. Kind of like Carey, who was making progress in his rehabilitation, but still experiencing setbacks at certain points in his progress. He has to see a specialist next week.
Byron, whose $3.4 million per season contract expires next summer, had his name placed on the long-term injured reserve earlier this week.
