He is back and so much to tell you : it’s going to bleed ! It is the 17th of June that will be released in the cinema the horror film Candyman produced by Jordan Peele (“Get Out, Us) and directed by Nia DaCosta. The first trailer has just been unveiled. Dead, blood and big moments of flip are waiting for you. Tremble !
Say his name five times while looking in a mirror and he will come to kill you… Based on the novel by Clive Barker, already adapted for the cinema in 1992 with Virginia Madsen, Tony Todd or Xander Berkeley, Candyman is reborn in 2020. After three films, the last of which was released in 1999, the famous character will come to (re)sow terror. What we give a few nightmares !
Candyman version 2020 to be unveiled
This new film is not a reboot : if you believe the trailer, it would seem that one is in the same universe as the film of 1992 in which the legend of Candyman came to life. This time, we will follow the story of Anthony (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II seen in Us and Watchmen), who, fascinated by the history of this mysterious killer, is going to wake him up inadvertently. The first images to be seen without waiting in our slideshow, promise many thrills and blood flowing – in dark rooms.
Question chills, it trusts Jordan Peele ! If it does not make the film, the american is screenwriter and producer. We had done well to pinball with Get Out (Oscar-nominated) and Us and it promises to be equally disturbing and nightmarish with Candyman. In casting, there are also Teyonah Parris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, or even Colman Domingo. Tony Todd, who has played Candyman in the three previous aspects will return in the role of the killer with the hook.
