The Cannes Festival which was to take place from May 12 to 23 will probably not take place this year.
An administrator of the big world meeting of the cinema would have entrusted to the newspaper Le Point that it will be very difficult to ensure the holding of the event in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, since the actors of fifty of countries could not move. Screening of films in theaters would also be impossible, since France prohibits gatherings of more than 100 people.

Still according to Le Point , this decision should in principle be taken by the organizers, the city and the State services on April 15, the day before the unveiling of the selected films and the jury.
