Cap d'Agde: free guided tours, antique market… European Archeology Days to experience at the Éphèbe museum

No need to procrastinate: when we talk about archeology in Agde, the Musée de l’Éphèbe, with its formidable underwater collections, stands out for itself. And next weekend, on the occasion of the European Archeology Days, curator Marion Audoly and her team have concocted a program that is entirely appropriate and in keeping with the tone of this event. you, who provide behind the scenes information on heritage and archaeological research.
Three visit themes
The highlight of these two days, free guided tours of the Musée de l’Éphebe will be offered to the public over three themes: “Maritime transport and ancient trade” (Saturday and Sunday, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.), “Ancient mythology” (Saturday, at 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.), without forgetting a visit to the temporary exhibition “RivÂges: 20,000 years of evolution of the coastal landscape” (Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., Sunday, at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.).
A market like in Antiquity
Sunday June 16, it is an ancient market which will be offered from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Like a Gaul, a Greek or a Roman of Antiquity, it will be possible to come stroll through this market and do your shopping, stalls of vegetables, fruits, bread, cheese, wine, honey, olive oil, perfumes and jewelry, leather being installed on site.
A stand from the National Institute for Preventive Archeology Research (Inrap), on which two archaeologists will offer a raw earth modeling workshop, will also be present, as will the archaeological service of the Hérault-Méditionranée agglomeration, which will present the ArchéOdyssée digital portal.
