The recently re-elected MP for the third constituency, Jean-François Rousset (Ensemble pour la République), is organizing a participatory debate on the theme of health this Friday, October 4, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Saint-Georges-de-Luzençon community center.

“What health system for South Aveyron”?” Open question and multiple answers, certainly. For his back-to-school event, the deputy for the third constituency of Aveyron Jean-François Rousset (Ensemble pour la République) is proposing a meeting-debate this Friday, October 4, in the village hall of Saint-Georges-de-Luzençon. The municipality that will host the future joint hospital, the first stone of which is announced for 2025 and the expected commissioning in 2028. If all goes well. “There are many concerns about this project with information, misinformation, meetings that follow one another… Things need to be clarified" supports the recently re-elected parliamentarian.

"I especially feel that it is important to put people in contact with each other. Caregivers, users and the administration to make people understand that we live in a world that is changing very quickly. “Yesterday's health is not that of today, nor that of tomorrow” supports Jean-François Rousset, himself a former surgeon. “Caregivers no longer want to work as before. Users would like an optimum service. They are right, but they must understand that things have changed. There is heavy equipment, such as MRIs, which are very expensive. So we cannot have them everywhere…"

Five workshops with specialists

The meeting-debate organized by the MP will be structured around five workshops for as many themes led, each time, by specialists (nurse, doctor, head of the Samu of the Rodez hospital, director of the Millau hospital…). In detail, the subject of prevention (“diagnose as quickly as possible”), the care pathway (“how to ensure proximity and quality ?”), attractiveness (“bringing caregivers to our territory”), emergencies (“our access to health”) and the common hospital (“preparing well for the future”). “We started with a field survey and also worked with the Grands Causses park which allowed us to identify these five themes. We are counting on the presence of caregivers and users who will be able to provide their testimonies and solutions."

"The report will be sent to elected officials"

The epilogue of this meeting will take the form of a written summary. "The report will be sent to elected officials who need to be put in touch with caregivers and users. For emergencies, for example, there are several levels of regulation that are important to clearly specify." MP Rousset does not refrain from echoing his action to the Ministry of Health."If there are strong injunctions or proposals, I could present it to Minister Geneviève Darrieussecq or her advisor. But our most important administrative contact remains the ARS (regional health agency), which has the possibility of derogating according to the challenges of the territories. This is a law that we passed in 2023."
