For three days, Midi Libre followed the end of the Feria de la Madeleine in Castellon. During the last bullfight, each maestro obtained a trophy in front of cattle from the Puerto de San Lorenzo and the Ventana del Puerto which were manageable but generally lacking in transmission and strength.

The weather conditions disrupted the last bullfight of the Feria de la Madeleine in Castellon and the muletas were flying as soon as the bullfighters returned to the center of the ruedo. Six bulls from the Fraile family were scheduled with the two family irons: Puerto de San Lorenzo and Ventana del Puerto (2nd and 3rd). A lot overall well presented and noble but which lacked transmission. In an arena two-thirds full, Sébastien Castella (hello after advice and ear after two opinions) opened the debates in the gusts in front of a bottomless toro struggling to lower his head into the muleta. At the end of a long technical and templated performance and a failure with the steels, the public invited him to salute.

1st ear of the season for Castella

Then, the Biterrois won his first trophy of his Spanish temporada against the 4th brave who had class but could not push until the end of the passes in the last part of the fight because his strength was numbered. A superb start from faena on her knees then series of cadence and slowness convinced the stands after a finish close to the horns and a well-positioned half-sword.

José Maria Manzanares (hi and ear) hardly had the opportunity to shine against his first toro who did not present any difficulties but did not have the conditions and the strength to fight in the final tercio. Some well-crafted series on the right were to the credit of the Alicante maestro who failed with the steels. The fifth toro also lacked race, and the maestro led a nursing faena with his usual gentleness and bonding. This time, the sword was perfect (he received the Prize for the best blow of the feria) and an ear rewarded his efforts.

First trophy for Talavante

Alejandro Talavante (ear and silence)obtained the first bullfight trophy by gently welcoming the third toro before warming up the atmosphere with chicuelinas then a quit with the cape in the back (saltilleras and gaoneras). Well-kept series on the left bank, a finale exposed by manoletinas and a nice blow provoked a majority petition.

The Spaniard then suffered two blows of fate for his last fight. The 6th was killed as soon as he entered the track by hitting a burladero and his replacement was the victim of a vuelta de campana which completely stopped his charge at the start of the last faena.

In the end, Tomas Rufo was declared triumphant at the Feria de la Madeline for the third consecutive year and Garcia Jimenez was awarded the prize for the best lot of bulls.

Triumph of Lea Vicens, report for Joubert

This Sunday, for the opening of the Fallas de Valencia, 60 kilometers further south, Roman opened the big door by cutting off two ears after a single counter six epic. Also note the two ears of Lea Vicens in the covered bullring of Illescas.

Finally, Thomas Joubert's bullfight for the Copa Chenel in Estremera in the Madrid region was postponed to March 23 due to bad weather.
