Celio relaunches a “be Camaïeu” collection, but not in Hérault

Two years ago, 511 Camaïeu stores disappeared in France, the brand being liquidated. It was bought by Celio, which will revive a Camaïeu collection in twelve stores, but none in Occitanie.

On October 1, 2022, the Camaïeu stores in Montpellier (Polygone and rue de la Loge), Saint-Jean-de-Védas, Saint-Clément-de-Rivière, Saint-Aunès, Lunel, Béziers and Sète closed their doors for good.

Several dozen employees had learned the news two days before. The women's ready-to-wear brand founded in 1984 had just been placed in receivership.

Nearly two years later, the brand was bought at auction by Celio for 1.8 million euros. But the 511 Camaïeu stores closed in France will not reopen.

A long list of disappeared brands

Only a new Camaïeu collection has just been launched. It will only be available in twelve Celio stores, but none in Occitanie.

Camaïeu joins the list of many brands (Kookaï, Naf Naf, San Marina, Pimkie, Gap, Don’t call me Jennyfer…) that have disappeared in recent years in Montpellier.
