CF Montreal: Kei Kamara explains his contractual obligations

Despite negotiations that do not go as planned, Kei Kamara intends to respect his contractual obligations with CF Montreal. 

Sporting director Olivier Renard does not unable to agree on the details of a new deal with the striker, but he still availed himself of the option attached to the Sierra Leonean's current contract for the 2023 season. 

The third top scorer in the history of Major League Soccer (MLS) with 139 nets is therefore present at the training camp of the Montreal eleven, despite a request for a public transaction last January.

“If the terms remain the same, I will of course honor my contract,” Kamara said in his first camp press scrum. I'm still here with the team and I'm 100% there. I will continue to help him achieve the goals we have set for ourselves, as we did last year.”

Kamara likely wants to return to the United States where his family lives. . However, he has already played with nine teams in 17 seasons in MLS, raising questions about his involvement.

But the principal concerned indicates that he simply wants to end his career in the best possible place.< /p>

“I am looking at other options to see if there is something better for me and my family. I don't have many years left to play and I want to know that the place where I play is the last one. Last year, I was working with the under 16s and I wanted to get my coaching license. I was too comfortable, because that's what I see myself doing later. I want to see myself in a place where I don't want to pack my bags anymore.”

CF Montreal will continue its camp at the Olympic Stadium before heading to Florida on April 5 for a few preseason games. He will begin his campaign against Inter Miami CF on February 25.
