CFL Draft: The Alouettes choose Jonathan Sutherland

The Montreal Alouettes selected defensive back Jonathan Sutherland with their fifth overall pick of the Canadian Football League (CFL) draft on Tuesday night.
< p>The Ottawa native, who can also play as a linebacker, played his college football at Penn State. He was not drafted last week by an NFL team, but agreed as a free agent with the Seattle Seahawks.
The Sparrows also held the seventh pick due to the trade of Vernon Adams Jr. They got hold of defensive lineman Lwal Uguak. The Edmonton native played for the University of Connecticut. The Alouettes also have the 13th pick of this auction.
With the very first round of refereeing, the Ottawa Redblacks have set their sights on offensive lineman Dontae Bull, a product of the Fresno State University. With the second pick, the Edmonton Elks have added Quebec linebacker Michael Brodrique from the University of Montreal Carabins.
