Champions League: Griezmann injured in the ankle, Thuram affected in the adductor area

L'Inter Milan a remporté le match aller de Ligue des Champions à Giuseppe-Meazza (1-0) face à un Atlético solide défensivement, mais trop peu inspiré sur le plan offensif. Une rencontre qui a d'ailleurs vu les deux Français Antoine Griezmann et Marcus Thuram sortir sur blessure. 

In addition to this defeat in Milan which does not suit El Cholo Simeone who hoped to leave the Italian lair with at least a draw, the Argentine coach must also endure a new disappointment: Antoine Griezmann's injury. 

The French striker suffers, as communicated by the club this Wednesday, February 21, from a "moderate ankle sprain". The club did not, however, provide any information on any length of unavailability, explaining that this remains “pending' evolution." 

Almost unavailable for the next Cup match

Spanish media Relevo claims that the French striker will miss, at least, the second leg of the Copa del Rey against Athletic Club on February 29. 

A crucial match for Diego Simeone's men who lost the first leg (1-0) on February 7. A first 'final' before the return match at the Metropolitano, against Inter Milan, on March 13.

Always according to the Spanish media, the club remains "confident" regarding the participation of its leader in the return match of the Champions League. But not immune to a surprise, Diego Simeone must now find a new magic formula without his star striker. 

The adductor area affected for Thuram

A little before the exit of Griezmann (79th) Marcus Thuram, the in-form Inter striker, also left with an injury shortly after returning from the locker room.  

Replaced by the only scorer of the match Marko Arnautovic, Marcus Thuram (26 years old), author of 10 goals this season in Serie A, worries the Nerrazzuri. 

According to the Team, the player suffers from the adductor area. Although, as with Griezmann, the staff are not "necessarily worried" of his case, Thuram should "know precisely the duration of his unavailability on Thursday, during additional examinations."
