UNE MARRAINE, UNE FILLEULE Tout au long de l’année, Midi Libre s’engage autour de femmes inspirantes, de rencontres positives.

At first glance, there are few common points between a psychoanalyst and a photographer. And yet! Not only do Christine Buord, who has been practicing in a private practice since 2005, and Emmanuelle Grimaud, manager of Studio Fenêtre sur cour, work in adjoining premises in old Fabrègues, but they share the same goal: to provide relief to families.

“I use many techniques such as hypnosis, D.M.O.K.A, a concept of neuro-emotional deprogramming that allows us to deactivate traumatic shocks that remain in our brain's memory, and E.F.T, an emotional release technique that uses Chinese meridian points to free people from their pain and restore their confidence” explains Christine Buord.

Very involved with her patients, whether they are children suffering in daycare, stressed teenagers about to take an exam, women who have suffered a miscarriage or elderly people at the end of their lives, Christine strives to always be reachable. “I love people, I'm not a teddy bear! But I fight to try to make other people's lives more beautiful. I listen to families, these are great moments of sharing” she confides.

“Taking care of people, each in our own way”

“We take care of people, each in our own way,” adds Emmanuelle Grimaud. A graphic designer by training, Emmanuelle photographs families during happy events such as the arrival of a baby, a wedding or a party. She also takes magnificent shots of the iris of the eye, dogs, dishes and objects. Passionate about her job, constantly looking for new challenges "to get out of [her] comfort zone", she has won numerous awards and notably represented France at the Professional Photography World Cup.

"I almost gave up photography when I started out after being slapped in the face by comparing my work to that of others" she smiles.

Vice-president of the photography union in Occitanie-Sud and secretary of the Fabrègues traders' association, the woman with the hat – she always wears one – wears many hats. "It's bubbling down there! But I always have in mind to remain authentic and close to people.” Whether it's helping others free themselves from bad memories or building beautiful ones, these two women share much more than just a doorstep.
