Cinema Tuesday: at Mont Duplan in Nîmes, a new outdoor music and film event with free access

On Tuesday July 30, the first edition of Cinémardi will open, which will offer families musical entertainment and film screenings until the end of August.

Take out your deck chairs. This summer, at Mont Duplan in Nîmes, five films will be shown outdoors. The Cinémardi are one of the free events offered by the Table Ouvert association, as part of the Quartiers d  ;rsquo;summer.

Gambetta-Richelieu the popular

This State system, which applies at the departmental level, is dedicated to the districts of the City policy, affected by precariousness. In Gard, more than 90 projects will take place in July and August. Gambetta-Richelieu is one of them. Around 40% of residents in this priority neighborhood live below the poverty line.

Every Tuesday evening, from July 30 to August 27, accessible films will be screened at Mont Duplan"for everyone world", specifies Pietro Truddaiu, president of Open Table. This is the first time that the association, which helps residents in difficulty in Gambetta and Richelieu, participates in the Summer Quarters.

Lawn and refreshment bar

Located very close to the two sectors, the Mont Duplan Planetarium will serve as a support for the screen. Around, 150 chairs and blankets on the lawn are planned. Volunteers from the rue Richelieu association will also manage "a small refreshment bar".

"Before each session there will be a music group", indicates Pietro Truddaiu. An invitation to travel with "world music" : Cajun, Irish or even flamenco.

Films for general audiences

Open table target "a family audience" with films & quot;open to all. The Argentine musical trio Los Malendrinos and Les Vieux Fourneaux 2 Cinémardi will open on July 30, from 8 p.m. The women of the 6th floor and What have we done to the good Lord?? will follow.

The projection equipment is provided by the director of the CGR Nîmes. Evrard Zaouche, like the Beaucairoise association Tête à clap, contributes to this first edition which aims to bring cinema to […] in the neighborhoods". It highlights the role of culture in & quot;l’insertion".

Sport will also be in the spotlight. The RCN will host a rugby event on August 21 on the Mont Duplan sports arena.
