Clean nature operation in the Thau basin: 150 m3 of waste collected in three days!

A l'initiative de la Fédération nationale des chasseurs, près de 150 personnes se sont mobilisées pendant trois jours pour ramasser les déchets dans la garrigue, au bord des routes et des étangs du bassin de Thau. 

Nearly 300 tires, between 6,000 and 8,000 cans, mainly beers, numerous plastic bottles, fast food wrappers and even bottles filled with urine for a total of 150 m3 of waste: this is the sad outcome of the operation "I love clean nature", organized from March 15 to 17 in the Thau basin.

The mobilization was significant. The three citizens' days were organized nationally by the National Federation of Hunters, with the participation of fishermen, hikers, mountain bikers and horse riders.

Three filled containers

On site, there were members of the hunting associations of Bouzigues, Montbazin, Gigean, Poussan, the diane of Sainton d’Aumelas… Nearly 150 people collected large volumes waste in scrublands, along ponds and rivers and along departmental roads, notably RD 2, 613 and 158.

The origins of the pollution, which filled three containers? Mainly road users, including professionals. There is still work to do to integrate the basic rules of respect for the environment.
