A boy of 12 years was seriously injured Saturday afternoon when the kayak in which he was was struck by a float plane on a body of water in the area of Grand-Remous, about fifty kilometres north of Maniwaki, in Outaouais.
The Sûreté du Québec received a call a little after 16 h in relation to this accident that occurred in the Baskatong reservoir.
The boy was wounded in the head and was transported to a hospital.
Another person who was with him in the kayak was not injured, according to the SQ.
“According to preliminary information, the plane had some difficulty and, during a maneuver, in falling, it struck the kayak on the water,” said sergeant Jean-Raphaël Drolet.
