The British has crossed the threshold of 6 000 deaths due to the coronavirus, and has experienced its record daily contaminations with 8 037 new infections, announced Thursday the ministry of Health.
The south american country has complained about 215 deaths during the past 24 hours, for a total of 6 029 deaths since the first case was listed on march 6.
According to the ministry of Health, Colombia has also reached a record number of contamination cases confirmed in one day (8 037) for a balance sheet total of 173 206.
In the space of five days, the number of deaths increased from 5 000 to 6 000 in this country with 50 million inhabitants, including eight million in the capital Bogota, which concentrates one third of cases identified at the national level.
Under the pressure of the economic crisis, the government of the right speaker Ivan Duque has decided to relax the containment, imposed on 25 march, but experts expect the pandemic to reach its peak over the next few weeks.
