Colonel Casso, new group commander of the Gard gendarmerie

Emmanuel Casso is officially the new commander of the Gard gendarmerie group. This colonel succeeds General Eric Chuberre who led all the gendarmes in the department and who was promoted to Brittany. Colonel Casso is therefore the new head of the Gard gendarmes, approximately 900 soldiers to which are added approximately 500 reservists spread across the companies of Nîmes, Vauvert, Alès, Bagnols-sur-Cèze and Le Vigan. The group also includes a departmental road safety squadron and a nautical brigade, based in Grau-du-Roi. Colonel Casso therefore began his visits to the gendarmerie units to assess the activity.

Research Section, Ministry of Justice, La Réunion

In his previous positions, the colonel led a class (2021-2023) of student officers at the prestigious National Gendarmerie Officer School (EOGN) in Melun, which is preparing to become the National Gendarmerie Academy. Emmanuel Casso also worked in the judicial world between 2019 and 2021 where he worked as a "gendarmerie" advisor within the Criminal Affairs and Pardons Directorate of the Ministry of Justice. In his previous roles, Mr. Casso also worked as a company commander in Saint-Paul de la Réunion. He also worked in a research section in Corsica in Ajaccio. In Nîmes, he is assisted by Colonel Painset who is the number two of the group.
