Consumer recall: merguez recalled throughout France because they may contain residues of veterinary drugs

Several batches of halal merguez sold in all Métro stores in France are being recalled due to the potential presence of veterinary drug residues.

Merguez sold on the shelves of Métro stores and manufactured by the Jean Chaplin slaughterhouses are recalled throughout France. In its recall sheet, the government site Rappel Conso mentions the presence of "potential drug residues".

Recalled batches

All recalled trays of Merguez were sold between June 25 and July 20, 2024. Affected batches:

• 970/241770035, expiration date set for July 13.

• 970/241770036, expiration date set for July 13.

• 970/241770037, expiration date set for July 13.

• 970/241770047, expiration date set for July 20.

A refund

The exact nature of the contamination is not detailed, apart from the mention "veterinary drug residues" is specified. The health risks in the event of consumption are also not mentioned.

People in possession of one of the references cited above are invited to return it to the store. They can obtain a full refund of the product. The end of the recall is set for August 3.
