Friday's demonstration in Ottawa will not make the government back down on the issue of the vaccine passport, warns federal minister Mélanie Joly.
In an interview at the In the program Le Bilan on LCN, the latter made a point of recalling that the convoy which left British Columbia for the federal capital represents only a marginal group. About 90% of Canadian truckers are vaccinated, indicated Mélanie Joly.
The Minister warned those who will demonstrate on Saturday about possible overflows.
“This does not is not true that we will accept violence and that we will be taken hostage,” maintained Minister Joly.
She described Donald Trump’s exit as “completely unacceptable” Jr, the son of the former American president, who gave his support to the trucking convoy.
“We are aware of what happened on January 6, 2021 in the United States. It's not true that we're going to see that here,” said Mélanie Joly, referring to the many pro-Trump activists who had invaded the Capitol in Washington.
