WASHINGTON | The United States recorded 63 643 cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, according to the data provided Friday evening, at 20.30, by the Johns Hopkins University, in which reference is made.

The day before, the country had achieved a new record for the number of infections to the COVID-19 with over 65 500 additional cases in a day.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 3.18 million cases of coronavirus have been detected on the territory of the united states, but the number of people who have contracted the disease is probably much higher, because of the difficulties of access to the tests that existed in the country in march and April.

About 774 people died of the COVID-19 in the United States during the last 24 hours, and the epidemic has made 133 969 victims in total in the country, which is by far the most grief-stricken in the world.

Experts fear that the curve of death does not follow quickly the trajectory of new infections. In recent days, Texas and Florida have reported, each, a record number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

The highest expert in infectious diseases by the american government, Anthony Fauci, has been sounding the alarm for several days in interviews. Some parts of the country, like New York, “have taken control of things,” he said Thursday to the site FiveThirtyEight.

“But as a country, when we compare ourselves to other countries, I don’t think we can say that we’d come out of it well. This is simply not the case”, has he hammered.

Donald Trump, who continues to minimize the outbreak of new cases of COVID-19 in the country, visited Friday in Miami, Florida, one of the big current outbreak of the epidemic of COVID-19, but the coronavirus was not on the agenda of his movement, focusing in particular on the military command for South America.
