While Quebecers flock to the cabins to spend time with family or friends during the Holidays, some may well have a surprise.

It 's is that the chalets are subject to the same regulations as indoor gatherings in private residences with regard to maximum capacity. & nbsp;

Thus, under the sanitary measures imposed by COVID-19, a maximum of 10 people from different addresses can meet in a chalet. It is also possible that all occupants of three different residences meet.

As for outdoor gatherings, a maximum of 20 people from different addresses or occupants of three different residences is allowed.

“People who do not follow the instructions are exposed to offense reports and fines,” recalls the Ministry of Health.

“When people are one meter away, wearing a mask or face covering is strongly recommended for people who are not adequately protected from COVID-19,” recommends the ministry.

The Quebec government has not yet released its recommendations for the holiday season. It is therefore not known for the moment whether any relaxations to the measures in force will be made in the coming weeks.

Remember that last year, Quebec was forced to backtrack due to the epidemiological situation which was deteriorating in the province.
