WASHINGTON | The United States recorded over the past 24 hours 1262 new deaths related to the COVID-19, according to the count Wednesday at 20: 30 from the Johns Hopkins university, in which reference is made.

A figure similar to that of the vigil, which brings to nearly 158 000 the total number of deaths recorded in the country since the beginning of the pandemic of novel coronavirus, which emerged in December in China.

The country is by far the most affected in the world by the pandemic in absolute terms, but the president, Donald Trump, resolutely optimistic, said Wednesday that the virus was going to “disappear”.

“It is not the slightest doubt in my mind, it will disappear”, he said during a press conference at the White House on the COVID-19.

An exercise that it has become flavour of the day lately, almost on a daily basis, after a resurgence of the epidemic since the end of June in many States in the south and the west of the country.

One of them, the Florida, has recognized alone since the beginning of the crisis more than half a million cases.

The health authorities of that State tourism, which has 21 million people, announced on Wednesday that a decrease in the number of cases of contamination daily.
