Quebec remained below 700 cases of COVID-19 for a second consecutive day, Tuesday.

La Belle Province reported 699 new cases and five additional deaths. & nbsp;

Hospitalizations have seen a slight decrease, with one person infected with COVID-19 having left the hospital since the day before, bringing the total to 203 occupied beds. No change has taken place since Monday in the intensive care unit, where there are 46 people.

Almost 5,582 new doses of vaccine have been administered in the past 24 hours. Of this number, 1239 doses were administered to Quebecers receiving the vaccine for the first time. About 88% of Quebecers are considered to be fully protected.

Vaccination schedules for children aged 5 to 11 were also opened Tuesday in the province.

< p>Across the Ottawa River, Ontario has reported 613 additional infections and six deaths. The new cases include 318 people who were not fully vaccinated, according to Health Minister Christine Elliott.

Nearly 282 Ontarians are hospitalized with COVID-19 (+136) and 134 (-2) are currently in intensive care.
