A player of the soccer team D. C. United, who has not been identified, has been tested positive to the COVID-19, has announced the club of the Major League Soccer (MLS) on Saturday.
The result revealed a series of tests that were conducted earlier in the week for a resumption of training complete.
The player will of course be quarantined. No other player on the team, or staff member has tested positive.
The club ensures that the distancing has been observed in previous workouts and the athlete in question has not participated in the recent public initiatives of the organization.
This news comes at a time when the MLS is making great strides towards the tournament, “MLS is back”, which will bring together the 26 teams in the league in Orlando in July. Moreover, D. C. United will be part of group C of the competition, with the Montreal Impact, among others.
