Different canadian provinces have introduced, Sunday, balance sheets nearly identical to those of the previous day, with a number of infections and deaths that continues day after day.
In total, 355 Canadians have received a diagnosis of COVID-19 to country, for a total of 113 921 cases reported since the beginning of the pandemic. Five deaths – four in Ontario and one in Quebec – have also darkened the balance sheet of canada, which has now accumulated 8990 people who perished while being carriers of the virus SARS-CoV-2.
It is to be noted that the data from Alberta and British Columbia are not shown in the balance sheet, the two provinces which don’t update their numbers during the weekends.
The Province has identified nearly half of all new canadian cases on Sunday with 169 infections. It is a number almost identical to the day before, day 171 positive tests were detected.
The scenario was very similar in Ontario, where 142 patients were identified, compared to 138 the previous day.
Saskatchewan also has not escaped the inexorable unveiling of 42 new infections, compared with 37 the day before. The heart of the Prairies, as well as the neighbouring province of Manitoba (+6 cases) are affected by outbreaks in hutterite colonies, of the protestant communities similar to the amish in the United States. These outbreaks represent almost all new cases in these two provinces.
Before the maintenance of the number of new cases in the country, where people under 40 years of age continue to be overrepresented, the director of the public health agency of Canada, Dr. Teresa Tam, has served a warning to young people.
“It is not only the elderly who can suffer serious health problems due to complications from COVID 19 […]. Of all cases of COVID-19 reported this week at the public health Agency of Canada, 63% were young people under the age of 39 years, of which one-third (31%) had been hospitalized,” said Dr. Tam, Sunday.
In recent weeks, with outbreaks in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia have been able to be related to bars, social activities, and, especially, the private parties that led to dozens of contamination, for example, on the South Shore of Montreal.
Despite all, the message seems to be struggling to reach young people. Thus, the Peel regional police, Ontario, announced on Sunday they had to intervene to disperse a private party which was attended by approximately 200 people in a residence in Brampton, suburb of Toronto.
According to the chain CP24, the organizers even had installed barriers to block the view to the neighbors and making sure that the guests do not film not the stage to avoid attracting attention on social networks. However, dozens of cars parked on lots in the surrounding area do not have, they, could not pass unnoticed, and have inevitably attracted the attention of the forces of law and order.
