COVID-19: hospitalizations continue to decline in Quebec

The number of Quebecers hospitalized with COVID-19 continues its downward trend observed for several days already. 

A total of 2,026 people occupy a bed hospital stays, including 693 due to COVID-19, a decrease of 69 from the previous day. Among them, 44 people are in intensive care, a figure also down for 24 hours (-4).

In addition, 15 new deaths were added to the latest report published Thursday morning. Two of them occurred within the last 24 hours, 11 others occurred between two and seven days and two others occurred more than a week ago.

Quebec also reported 756 new cases of COVID-19 that have been recorded at testing centers in the province, and 41 positive tests were self-reported on Wednesday.

In addition, 2,554 health care workers are still absent from the network for reasons related to the virus, whether for preventive withdrawal, isolation or waiting for results.
