COVID-19: hospitalizations continue to drop

The number of Quebecers hospitalized with COVID-19 continues to decrease, and has been for the past week, according to the most recent report from Public Health. 

A total of 1,859 people occupy a hospital bed, including 612 due to COVID-19, a decrease of 38 from the previous day. Among them, 52 people are in intensive care, a figure also down (-4) compared to Tuesday.

Four additional deaths have been added to the Public Health report: two occurred in the past 24 hours, and two more between two and seven days ago.

Quebec also reported 628 new cases of COVID-19 that were recorded in testing centers in the province, and 22 positive tests were self-declared on Tuesday.

In addition, 1,905 health care workers are still absent from the network for reasons related to the virus, whether for preventive withdrawal, isolation or waiting for results.
