The bar of 100 000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 was taken in Canada on Thursday.
Quebec accounts for 42 deaths and 120 additional cases, bringing the total to 5340 deaths and 54 383 infected persons in the province.
Ontario, for its part, recorded 173 new cases on Thursday, the lowest number for almost 12 weeks. Three deaths have been added since the previous day.
In total, 100 of the 146 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the country, as well as 8299 dead.
