COVID-19 : nouveau record de contaminations au Mexique

MEXICO city | Mexico reported Thursday, a new record daily contamination at the COVID-19, with 7280 new cases during the preceding 24 hours, according to figures from the Health secretariat.

According to the point newspaper of the Health secretariat, Mexico account 282 283 positive cases and 33 526 deaths since the first case was recorded in the country on 28 February.

The number of new deaths in the last 24 hours is $ 730.

“The risk of contagion remains high, and it is therefore necessary to apply health measures to prevent an increase in cases,” said José Luis Alomia, director of epidemiology, in his lecture to usual daily activities.

Despite record spot of contamination in a day recorded on Thursday, Mr. Alomia has stated that the general trend was the decline in positive cases and deaths throughout the country.

“We have now three weeks (epidemiological), the 24, 25 and 26, with a downward trend”, he said.

Mexico began in June with a progressive reopening of its economy, which according to Hugo Lopez-Gatell, head of the mexican strategy against the COVID-19, always involves a risk of increased cases.

Mexico, which has 127 million inhabitants, is the fifth largest country in terms of deaths from the coronavirus after the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom and Italy.
